October:
This month I want to share some thoughts on Faith Hardiness which focuses on using our faith as a resource. May we with Paul say, “we are often troubled, but not crushed; sometimes in doubt, but never in despair; there are many enemies, but we are never without a friend; and though badly hurt at times, we are never destroyed” (II Corinthians 4: 8,9). The following questions can help us to integrate our faith more fully in our life.
How Can I Use my Faith as a Resource in my Life?
- How would you describe your overall health?
- How does your faith help you care for your body, influence your thinking, affect your relationships, willingness to get into God’s word and affect how you go about your work?
- Are you generally able to trust God to provide for your needs or are you more often in an anxious state?
- Are you able to see change as an opportunity and not primarily a loss?
- Can you recall a time in which difficulties increased your awareness of Christ’s presence in your life?
- What support do you gain from other Christians in everyday life?
- On a regular basis, what activities do you do to nourish your faith and relationship with God?
